What You’ll Learn In This Module

In this module, you will build a strong starting point for your IT studies. You’ll learn what Information Technology is, explore common career paths, and begin figuring out where your interests may fit within the field. You’ll also develop learning habits that will help you succeed throughout the program, including goal setting, time management, and using AI tools responsibly to support your learning.

You will practice essential digital and professional skills using tools such as LinkedIn and Google Workspace. By the end of the module, you will feel more confident navigating the course, organizing your work, and taking early steps toward your future career in IT.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Explain foundational concepts of Information Technology and identify common IT career paths.
  • Set personal learning goals and use basic time-management strategies to support your coursework.
  • Use generative AI tools to support your learning, including writing effective prompts.
  • Create or update a basic professional LinkedIn profile.
  • Organize and manage your course materials using Google Workspace tools.
  • Begin building a starter portfolio that reflects your interests and intended career direction in IT.
